Survey shows that limit increase will be the most sought after option by consumers this year

Brazil — To identify Brazilians’ relationship with the credit card and point out perspectives related to consumption, Serasa carried out a survey to measure the main desired benefits and possible motivations for changes in relation to the use of the card.

According to the survey, which heard 4,521 people between December 19 and January 9, 19% of consumers say they intend to make new cards in 2023, but 61% of respondents revealed that if they found all the benefits in a single card credit, they would have only one.

“The survey shows that Brazilians want to be more strategic in the use of the card, seeking more economical ways and benefits that will be used in other areas of life, such as airline miles”,

says Serasa director Amanda Rapouzo.

Thinking about changes for 2023, the data reveal that 39% of consumers expect to change the card for a new option with more limits this year. Then, 16% say they are looking for a card with no annual fee and 14% want points program opportunities to exchange for rewards.

Main changes sought by consumers in relation to Credit Cards. Based on these trends, the market also tries to innovate with new offers for all consumer profiles.

“With so many options today, there are cards for all income brackets, stages of life, dreams and goals”,

points to Amanda.

“Therefore, it is important to understand how you use it on a day-to-day basis and draw up a financial plan that is consistent with the features of the desired card”, he adds.
