After months of anticipation and some buzz around the city, finally the branch of the famous Churrascada Farm in Curitiba opened to the public on January 3rd. Called the Disney of barbecue, the Churrascada Farm in Curitiba has the capacity to serve up to 400 people and is located in the Rebouças neighborhood, almost in the heart of the city. Incredibly, the local partners of the establishment were able to find a plot of 3,500 m² in the central area of ​​the city, with a house from the 1950s in front and a large backyard.

The barbecue and the fire’s ancient ability to bring people together are at the heart of the whole experience. And the rustic decoration of the house, the corner of the bonfire on one side and the ground fire rib on the other and the line of nine parrillas leave no doubt about that.

“The objective is to provide a unique barbecue experience, in an urban space, with integrated and largely wooded areas”, says Alexandre Voigt, who runs the venture with partners Rafael Lass and Sammy Proença in Curitiba.

On the menu, several options to snack and share. The menu was designed by expert barbecue chef Paula Labaki. The rib rice with soft egg yolk, the pout pepper sausage, the popcorn and the smoked rib dumpling with mustard sauce are not to be missed.

MelkyVeg, a vegan ice cream brand from Curitiba, opened a physical store in the Portão neighborhood. The ice creams have a natural and sustainable formulation, without the use of ingredients of animal origin, such as lactose, or artificial colors or flavorings. There are five flavors, in packages of 473 ml and 355 ml. They are: strawberry (Morango Cremoso), chocolate with chocolate biscuit (Chocookie), chocolate (Intenso Cacau), cream (Creme das Palmeiras) and cream with chocolate biscuit (Cookies and Cream). Prices vary between R$ 28.49 and R$ 36.59.

Charming. Perhaps this is the best definition for the first impression left by the restaurant Maria Eugênia Gastronomia & Natureza. Installed in a forest in the middle of the Santa Felicidade neighborhood, the restaurant is beautiful by day, but becomes exuberant at night, with light fixtures spread throughout the space. For children, the kids area, with recreation on Saturdays and Sundays, complements the experience provided by the trees and forest.

The menu was conceived by chef Ivo Lopes (ex-La Varenne) and has meats prepared in the parrilla as a chef’s car. Sausage with green apple vinaigrette, Pork Moura in bamboo with pineapple and grape chutney, Ancho steak, Prime rib and Denver are some of the options. In addition to individual and sharing dishes, the house also has a varied table of cold cuts, which are charged by the kilo.

To drink, Maria Eugênia has an interesting drinks list, with practically all the classics and other originals, the result of the creativity of bartender Ariel Todeschini. The wine list has more than 150 labels, from various importers, such as Porto a Porto, Wine Bubbler and Mondo Sur. After being closed for just over 30 months, the traditional Café do Teatro de Curitiba has reopened at a new address. The new Café do Teatro is located at Rua XV de Novembro 1037, close to Guairinha. Before, the traditional artistic bohemian house of the capital was at Rua Amintas de Barros 154, next to Guaíra.

The address has changed, but the essence of the house has not. At least that’s what the establishment’s new partners promise – Café do Teatro was sold in early 2022, after being closed for months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the love for the arts, the menu with iconic dishes and even the old cook and waiter of the house remain in the new Café do Teatro.

Among the successes of Café do Teatro that are on the menu of the new place are the famous Swiss potatoes and the Ventre do Minotauro sandwich – prepared with mignon and lots of cheese. Bottled beer, another bohemian spot brand, also remains on the menu.
