The São Paulo Coffee Festival, the biggest event of its kind in Brazil, takes place this weekend at the Bienal pavilion, in Ibirapuera Park. There are hundreds of attractions, so it’s not easy to choose what to do.
Therefore, the coffee in the press indicates the experiences that are not to be missed – and also what will not be missed so much.

AMAZON ROBUSTS
A jewel from the São Paulo Coffee Festival is located in a small stand. In the modest space of Bem-caffeinated, a specialty coffee shop in Belém, it is possible to taste great coffees produced in the Amazon.
They are caféforas (a species rarely used in specialty coffees) of high sensory quality, which are different from what São Paulo consumers are used to.
In addition to the tasting, there is the opportunity to buy unique products, such as cupuaçu cookies and chocolates from the island of Combu, in Pará.
The passion with which owner Liane Dias talks about the sustainability and quality of Amazonian coffees is admirable. Therefore, it is an unmissable stand, which reminds us that coffee is not just a drink.
EXPLORE CAFETERIES OUTSIDE SP
The event is an excellent opportunity to meet roasters and coffee shops from outside São Paulo.
It is true that some of the best coffee shops in São Paulo are present and even take launches to the fair. But usually you find products that will soon be available in stores.
Therefore, if you don’t have that much time, dedicate yourself to the stands of stores in other parts of the country, such as Academia do Café, in Belo Horizonte, and King Cafés, which roast excellent beans.
ABIC EDUCATIONAL SHOW
Abic (Brazilian Association of the Coffee Industry) brought to the festival an experience that takes the visitor from the green beans to the cup.
The exhibition talks about the purity and quality control processes conducted by the entity and even provides samples with the main sensory notes that are found in coffee tasting.
At the end, the consumer chooses the coffee profile he likes the most and tastes it. It is worth it especially for those who are starting to explore this universe.
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS
The area where the musical performances take place has become quite pleasant and is a good place to take a break and relax between a dose of caffeine and another. In front of the stage there is a synthetic lawn and lounge chairs that simulate the atmosphere of a music festival.
The food court, in the outdoor area, with food from well-known restaurants and snack bars, also offers a good respite for those who want to take a break from the cafe to eat something and chat. The space, however, could have more tables and chairs.
The Barista Cup is fun entertainment. Professionals dispute who prepares the best coffee. The results are evaluated by specialized tasters, while the public follows the presentations.
The Laboratory is the space where the festival proposes discussions and lectures on specific topics. The programming, however, could stimulate more debates and oppose dissenting voices.
There are other interesting attractions, such as roasting, where the visitor follows the roasting process in real time, workshops (latte art and espresso martini, for example) and the Sensory Experience, where it is possible to harmonize coffee with various foods.
