Santander claims that it managed to boost the number of debt renegotiation agreements after it replaced the electronic service on WhatsApp by bank employees.
The average has tripled in the online channel since November, when the change in service was made, according to the institution.
In 2022, the growth of interactions on the bank’s WhatsApp was 70%, and more than 9 million customers used the app in at least one operation in the last 12 months, says Santander.
With the change to human service, the perception is that personalized proposals weighed on the success rate of converting defaulters, instead of pre-programmed alternatives, according to the bank.
