Manaus (AM) – The Queiroz Group will be honored this Thursday (22), by the City Council of Manaus (CMM). One of the company’s founders, Samuel Queiroz, will receive the Cidade de Manaus Gold Medal, an honor given for his contribution to the economy and job creation in the Amazon.

The proposal for granting the medal was made by councilor Wallace Fernandes Oliveira. The ceremony takes place from 1 pm, in the Plenary Adriano Jorge, at the CMM. Samuel, along with his brother Otoniel Queiroz, are the founders of the company, which in August of this year turns 30 years old.

The two have always been business partners. Together, they sold eggs, fruit and pulp. Soon, they started working with the sale of packaging and plastic materials, in a small store on Avenida Tefé, in Cachoeirinha.

In 2010, Samuel’s son Anderson, who worked as a lawyer, decided to go work with his father. With new ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit, Anderson started managing the business in 2016, with his sister Andreza and cousin Thainá, daughter of Otoniel. The third generation of the Queiroz family then becomes responsible for the growth of what is now known in the North as the Queiroz Group.

Queiroz is a reference in packaging in the country and one of the main companies in the North region in materials for food service and stationery. In Amazonas, it has 15 stores, in addition to a distribution center. Since 2021, it has also been present in Roraima, with two stores installed in Boa Vista.

According to Samuel Queiroz, it is an honor to be able to receive the homage on behalf of the group, mainly because it is the year of the company’s 30th anniversary. “I share this happiness with the whole family, especially my brother who has always been with me, the Queiroz employees who are dedicated every day to offering the best service and attention, and the customers, who are always by our side and help us build this story,” he said.
