‘Sabadão da Saúde’ offers free services in Manaus

Manaus (AM) – Manaus City Hall announces that, next Saturday (2), the units of the Municipal Health Department (Semsa) will be open, from 7am to 12pm, for the mega-action “Sabadão da Saúde”, a strategy that has the objective of expanding access to assistance services in the primary care network.

Users with suspected or confirmed hypertension and diabetes, pregnant women, users old enough to undergo cervical cancer screening and children aged 0 to 14 who need to update their vaccination records are the target audience for the large health mobilization in the capital.

Service at the units will be open door, without the need for an appointment, explains the head of Semsa, Shádia Fraxe, who adds that the action aims to speed up the services offered in the routine of health establishments in the municipal network.

“Sabadão da Saúde is a mega health action that is part of Mayor David Almeida’s agenda of commitments to strengthen the coverage of the primary care network in the capital, and for this event to be a success, we need the population to attend to receive the health services that will be offered”,

accentuates.

Designed to facilitate access for users who have difficulty seeking services from the municipal health network throughout the week, “Sabadão da Saúde” will bring together a series of actions and services for the entire population, but in particular, for children aged 0 to 14, who need to update their vaccinations.

For the segment of people with confirmed or suspected hypertension or diabetes, Semsa will provide consultations, blood pressure measurement, glycated hemoglobin testing, prescription renewal and medication dispensing.

“It is important to emphasize that people who are in this condition and have not undergone a medical evaluation in the last four months, need to look for the nearest operating unit to present, if possible, prescriptions and previous exams, so that they can be attended to”,

explains Shádia Fraxe.

Women can benefit from prenatal consultations from one month of pregnancy onwards. Pregnant women who have not yet started the set of care or who are missing one of the six consultations required for complete prenatal care should seek health establishments, which will also be offering preventive exam collection for women who are between 25 and 64 years old.

Last Saturday (25), Semsa mobilized 1,650 employees, in 167 rooms in the basic health network, in addition to mobile stations in schools, condominiums, supermarkets and other high-traffic places, on the “D-Day” of influenza vaccination, with the aim of protecting the most vulnerable groups and children against vaccine-preventable diseases, which seriously compromise their development.
