Most of the 71% of respondents are looking for a higher salary and 51% want a better quality of life

Research by Robert Half consultancy reveals that 49% want to look for another job in 2023, with 39% of them wanting to change their field of work, segment or profession. The interview was conducted with 1,161 people throughout Brazil.

According to career strategy specialist Ghiysa Benchimol, before making a decision, it is important to reflect on this change. Some things need to be done, such as thinking about the possible difficulties of this process and considering the favorable periods for relocation.

“The decision to change jobs is not always simple, but it takes courage to make that decision. Factors such as the search for better wages, reconciling personal and professional life have a direct influence on changing careers. This moment can be stressful as new professional paths bring issues that we don’t know how to deal with. However, changing careers, either willingly or out of necessity, can bring a lot of joy and hope”, he points out.

Most of the 71% of respondents are looking for a higher salary and 51% want a better quality of life. Already 47% want to migrate from work to personal fulfillment and 38% want to learn something new.

Ghiysa Benchimol highlighted four questions you should ask to make the decision whether or not to change jobs in 2023.

“The first question that the person should ask is whether there is a prospect of career growth in the new job. Sometimes you migrate to a lower position than the one you work in because you see the possibility of being promoted within the corporation. In addition, the person must ask himself whether the new opportunity brings new learning or will it just be stagnation. This is important because salary alone is not enough in the long run. Even if it’s important, it shouldn’t be the only question to determine whether or not you’re going to change jobs. Also ask yourself if the level of challenge within the new company is in line with your expectations. And finally, will the work environment be pleasant? Working in a hostile field brings discouragement over the months”, he questions.

Another suggestion for those looking for good opportunities, keep your Linkedin profile up to date. “Opportunities in the business sector are more attractive”, emphasizes the expert.
