The first meeting of Minister Fernando Haddad, of Finance, with the Banco dos Brics under the presidency of Dilma Rousseff (PT), on Monday night (29) did not advance in measures that help to help Argentina, as the government signaled since the Alberto Fernández’s visit to Brazil at the beginning of the month.

Haddad met via videoconference with the other governors of the bank and discussed general subjects of the institution, such as the need to expand the funds, the inclusion of new members and focus on investments in strategic issues “above all investment in the so-called global South and focused on question of the ecological transition”.

“There was no room for it [ajuda à Argentina]”, said the minister. Initially, Haddad would participate in the meeting of the bank’s governors, but decided to stay in the country to articulate negotiations with senators in order to get enough votes for the approval of the new fiscal framework.

The framework project reached the Senate last Thursday (29) and faces resistance from the opposition to speed up the vote as the deputies did.
