Manaus (AM) – returns in 2023 starring, once again, the cultural heritage of the State. The Corrida do Teatro Amazonas is open for registration for the second edition, which will be held on June 11 (Sunday), at 6 am, starting and ending at Avenida José Clemente, in Largo de São Sebastião, Centro. Registration remains open at www.ticketsports.com.br until vacancies are closed.
The event with support from the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy and Amazonense Agency and Cultural Development (AADC), is carried out by Smart Digital and technical assistance from Endurance Sports.
The pioneering edition, in 2022, had 1,500 subscribers. Faced with success, the race entered the official sporting calendar of the city.
The Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy, Marcos Apolo Muniz, pointed out that the event is not restricted to sports, as it encourages people from Amazonas to belong to the centenary Teatro Amazonas and other cultural spaces, which represent the identity of the state.
“It is a sporting event that carries a unique historical value, in a setting that is completely ours. In addition to Teatro Amazonas, the athletes pass by Palacete Provincial, Parque Jefferson Perez, Palácio Rio Negro and the Palace of Justice. It is a unique moment, which provides the families who will honor the event and the athletes with an activity outside the routine in the main streets of downtown Manaus”, highlighted the secretary.
The minimum age for participation is 16 years old. In this case, the responsible person must register the minor athlete and accompany him on the day of the event, June 11th. The starts will be in two moments: 6:00 am for the Disabled Persons (PcDs) squad and, at 6:05 am, for the elite and general.
Athletes who complete the course will receive a participation medal and trophies for the first three places in the General Individual Male/Female, Visual Male/Female and Wheelchair Accessible categories. The three teams with the highest number of participants that finish the race will receive cash prizes and a trophy.
Information about the regulation and route are available on the websites www.endurancemanaus.com.br and www.ticketsports.com.br.
