The reduction in the price of a liter of gasoline by R$ 0.13 for distributors begins to take effect this Friday (16). The announcement was made by Petrobras on Thursday (15). With the reduction, the value becomes R$ 2.66 per liter. In proportional terms, the reduction is 4.7%.

This is the second time that Petrobras has announced a cut in fuel prices in 30 days. A month ago, on May 16, the state-owned company had announced a reduction of R$ 0.44 per liter. According to Petrobras, considering the prices surveyed weekly by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), the average price to the final consumer should drop to R$ 5.33 per liter.

The cut in prices comes a month after Petrobras announced a new policy for fuel, ending the parity with foreign countries. And it also occurs right after the high price at the pumps with the change in the ICMS collection model, which defined a rate of R$ 1.22 per liter since the beginning of the month.
