Red wines from Colombo are champions in international competition

Two wines from Colombo, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, won a gold medal in the Vinalies competition, one of the most respected awards in the world. The labels Censurato Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 and Paradigma Rotto Cuvée Tannat, from Vinícola Franco Italiano, were the only Brazilian red wines to win in the competition.
The tastings took place in early March, in France, and 2,234 samples from 38 countries were evaluated. The director of the Brazilian Association of Enology (ABE), João Carlos Taffarel, represented Brazil among the judges.
According to Taffarel, Vinalies is a great contest, recognized worldwide for its rigor, organization and scope. “Strict and fully computerized, Vinalies follows the blind tasting format. In addition to the scores, the 100 judges describe the characteristics of each sample, further qualifying the evaluation”, he highlights.

Rich in aromas of blackberries and ripe plums, with notes of oak, vanilla, delicate toast and soft tannins, this wine has a large volume in the mouth with great elegance and complexity. It is currently the wine with the highest number of awards from Vinícola Franco Italiano, being awarded practically in all vintages since 2005.
Already the champion, Paradigm Rotto Cuvée Tannat it is the guardian of the 2012 and 2014 vintages. In both they matured for 24 months in new French oak barrels. The bottles were stored in the underground cellars, under careful guard, which gave the wine a unique complexity.
Wine with a beautiful garnet color, with notes of black fruits, raisins and spices, such as black pepper and a perfume of coffee beans, with touches of chocolate, caramel and licorice. A powerful, complex and attractive wine. Plus, it’s a limited edition of 1080 bottles.
