The program included several activities linked to National Black Awareness Day

Manaus (AM) – Capoeira presentation, conversation circle, dissemination of videos with content to combat racism, as well as informative leaflets praising black culture in the country, marked the program held at the State Centers for Family and Elderly Coexistence (Ceci) to celebrate the Day National Society of Black Consciousness, celebrated on November 20th, a date that marks the trajectory of struggles for recognition and equality.

On the morning of this Wednesday (22), the Magdalena Arce Daou Family Community Center, located in the Santo Antônio neighborhood, West zone, received members of the Arte Revelação Capoeira Association, which was born in the Compensa neighborhood and spread to several neighborhoods in Manaus and the interior, for a brief presentation. CECF users took the opportunity to learn some cultural assets skills.

Resistance

The group’s master, Ney Valente, said that the association started three years ago as a symbol of resistance to crime, and today it has seven branches in Manaus, one in Boa Vista do Ramos and another in Fonte Boa, with support from some institutions.

The Teonizia Lobo Family Family Coexistence Center, located in the Mutirão neighborhood, north zone, held on Tuesday (21) a conversation circle addressing the topic, followed by the presentation of a Capoeira Circle of the Project forming Citizen.

CECF Padre Pedro Vignola, located in Cidade Nova, North Zone, also held a lecture on Tuesday with the theme Dandara Movements of Black Brazilian Women. There was also a conversation and leafleting on the topic. The center closes the program on the topic this Thursday (23) with a workshop dealing with the subject.

The State Center for the Living of the Elderly (Ceci), located in the Aparecida neighborhood, South zone, promoted on Tuesday a program aimed at raising awareness of the topic, valuing Afro Descendant culture, having as guests a Capoeira Group and the Capoeira Group. Women’s Movement Theater. The Warrior Groups and Stimulating Memory, from Ceci, participated in the activities.

The Maria de Miranda Leão Family Community Center, located in the Alvorada neighborhood, valued Afro Culture with a varied program: a Lecture from the Instituto Afro da Amazônia with musicality, in the morning; In the afternoon, he held a workshop on Afro-Brazilian Culture with the Alegria Coexistence Group.

CECFs André Araújo, located in Raiz, South zone and 31 de Março, located in the Japiim neighborhood, South zone, also celebrated Black Awareness Day: A rhythm class with the theme: Racial Reparation and Human Rights, and Conversation Circle on the topic, respectively.
