The last edition of the street dress rehearsal takes place this Saturday (27), in Orla da Matinha
Manaus (AM) – With less than 10 days left until the Access Group A Parade, the Grêmio Recreativo Cultural Escola de Samba Presidente Vargas holds the last edition of the street Dress Rehearsal this Saturday (27), in Orla da Matinha. The gathering for the event starts at 7 pm, presenting the theme “Samba Raiz é Samba Paixão – Couro Velho, 20 Years of Tradition”. The departure will be in Orla da Matinha, Central-South area of Manaus.
The rehearsal will be attended by all sectors of the Association, including the Baianas, passistas, Mestre-Sala and Porta-Bandeira couples, Corte da Bateria, in addition to Bateria Mil Graus; to show a little of what will be presented on the catwalk. At the end of the Rehearsal, Grupo Bem Bom will play the best of pagode in “After da Águia” for the audience present.
The school is in the final adjustments towards the parade at Carnival 2024, and for the vice-president of the school, João Segundo, the importance of Street Rehearsals is to define the school’s markings on the avenue, simulating the retreat of the drums, the progress of the harmony and even the judges’ booth where the evaluation of the judging questions takes place.
“The Dress Rehearsal is a simulation of what President Vargas will show on the avenue, with the questions making their presentations to our community, aiming for the big day. Expectations for the parade are the best possible, work is in full swing, and we believe in the strength of our Matinha community, we invite all samba lovers to attend this great party”,
he said.
President Vargas has been fighting for access to the Manaus Carnival Special Group since 2014, and this year the group will present the plot that tells the story of the traditional samba group Couro Velho, created by former members of the Vitória Régia Samba School, known as ‘ Golden Drummers’. ‘Águia da Matinha’ wants to portray the passion of Manauaras on the avenue, for the group that brings together a crowd of samba lovers every Friday in Praça 14.
