Presenter Daniel Sabbá removes cancer in his nose a year after suffering a serious accident: ‘I decided to fight for life’

“A champion, a legend of Rio de Janeiro, a tireless warrior”. This is how Sergio Mallandro describes surfer, actor and presenter Daniel Sabbá, with whom he has been friends for over 40 years. At the age of 67, he has just had cancer in his nose while he is still recovering from the serious accident he suffered at the end of 2021. Daniel was riding his motorcycle when he collided head-on with a car in the neighborhood of São Conrado, in the South Zone of Rio, and stood between life and death.

“I’m recovering firm and strong. It’s love that gives us the strength to move forward. The love of family and friends. A year ago I was nobody, and now I’m here, recovering the movement of my arms and legs. I even had a huge skin cancer removed from my nose not long ago”, said the presenter in a conversation with Mallandro on the Papagaio Falante podcast.

In recent months, Daniel Sabbá has shared with his followers on social networks all the stages of his recovery. In addition to the numerous visits of friends to the hospital, such as Evandro Mesquita and surfer Rico de Souza.

“I had the onset of depression in the first three months of treatment, but I received so much affection, so much support, that I decided not to give up and fight for life. I’m living one day after another. Life only ends when you die. I still found myself in spiritism because I had a strong experience at the time of the accident. I saw my body float, I thought I had died, but I’m here alive”, he says.

Daniel Sabbá is a well-known figure in Rio, has presented programs on television, was a surfer and one of the pioneers of hang gliding in Brazil. In addition, he made appearances in soap operas, such as “Pecado Capital” and “Paraíso Tropical”. In the early 2000s, he also made news for being married at the time to singer Syang, who was featured in the second edition of “House of Artists”.
