Policlínica Codajás celebrates 39 years with great advances in public health

Manaus (AM) – On Monday (26) the Codajás Polyclinic, a unit linked to the State Department of Health of Amazonas (SES-AM), completes 39 years of existence. The unit offers more than 30 medical specialties and about 600 servers daily serve approximately one thousand users of the Unified Health System (SUS), being a reference in specialized care in the state.

In five years, the unit has had major medical and structural improvements with the renovation of 10 of the 15 sectors it has, providing more comfort to the servers and users who frequent it. In addition, in the course of its improvement process, it also received new IT equipment for professional use and furniture.

During this period, the Sensory Garden was inaugurated, with a gardening service, painting of the place, a revitalized park bench and water fountains, which transformed the outdoor environment into a calming place to care for patients with sensory, motor and autistic disorders. in treatment.

In the Orthopedics sector, there was a general renovation of the space, with the arrival of new professionals to assist users, increasing the number of consultations with the specialist to an average of 200 patients per day. The Testing and Counseling Center (CTA) was also inaugurated, which already serves an average of 2,000 users per year.

In one year, the changes were significant, such as the delivery in the new space for dispensing ostomy bags, the delivery of more than 2 thousand pieces of equipment for Persons with Disabilities (PCD), an initiative that was carried out in partnership with the Federal Government by through the Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER IV). The ‘Carro de Parada’ was also inaugurated, an emergency health service, in case a user in routine care becomes ill inside the unit.

In the gynecology sector and the Sexual Diversity and Gender Outpatient Clinic, around 800 women have already been assisted in one year, for follow-up on endometriosis, and among other health problems with consultations and referrals for exams.

The LGBTQIA+ category carried out important exams such as HPV, quick tests, routine consultations with psychologists, speech therapists, gynecologists and endocrinologists, with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, technicians, social workers, with an open-door service.

Mutirões in health were carried out, to speed up the queue of the Regulation System, serving around 1,500 users in a single Saturday of action. The Center for Patient Safety and Epidemiological Sanitary Surveillance held several lectures in the sectors on the correct use of hand washing, precautions with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), correct disposal of waste, etc.

There were also numerous educational lectures on health for users, internal training for servers, which serve the public on a daily basis in the capital, as well as in the interior of Amazonas. Recently, the electronic medical record service was inaugurated, and the servers are being trained, thus streamlining consultations and examinations more quickly.

For the general director of Policlínica Codajás, Ráiner Figueiredo, today the unit celebrates another year of many advances that have occurred and are yet to come.
