Plínio Fernandes harmonizes works by Bach with themes by Luiz Gonzaga, Villa-Lobos and Sérgio Assad in ‘Bacheando’

Acclaimed guitarist worldwide in the erudite universe, the musician from São Paulo releases his second album on September 22nd. Assad Duo guitarist, Sérgio has presented on the album Bacheando an original work composed in three movements, Prelúdio, Fuga e Vivace, Brazilian answer by Assad from São Paulo to the theme Prelude, Fugue and Allegro in e-flat major, BWV 998, by Bach. As an arranger, Sérgio Assad also created four solo guitar arrangements for Plínio Fernandes’ second album, including the mashup arrangement that amalgamates Bachianinha no. 2 (Paulinho Nogueira) and Araponga (1943), choro by Luiz Gonzaga (1912 – 1989), presented 80 years ago.
