PIS/Pasep 2023 allowance is released; see who gets it – 02/15/2023 – Market

Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco do Brasil start paying, this Wednesday (15), the PIS/Pasep 2023 allowance to workers born in January and February or civil servants who have zero benefit at the end. The release calendar runs until July this year.

Professionals who, in the base year of 2021, worked at least 30 days with a formal contract receiving, on average, up to two minimum wages are entitled to the benefit. It is also necessary to be registered with PIS/Pasep for at least five years and to have data correctly informed by employers in Rais (Annual List of Social Information).

The PIS (Social Integration Program) is deposited by Caixa for employees of private companies. The Pasep (Server Assets Training Program) is released by Banco do Brasil to civil servants.

In all, 22 million professionals will benefit, with 20.4 million entitled to PIS and 2.5 million to Pasep. R$ 22 billion will be released.

How much will the worker receive?

The PIS/Pasep allowance varies according to the number of months the professional formally worked in the payment base year. The minimum installment is BRL 109, and the maximum amount is BRL 1,302, according to the current minimum wage.

If the minimum wage is readjusted on May 1st, as the Lula government has promised, the values ​​should change. The possibility is that the national floor rises to R$ 1,320.

How is the PIS/Pasep allowance paid?

Those who have an account at Caixa or Banco do Brasil receive the money directly into their account, without having to go to the bank. The rest will have to go in search of payment. At Caixa, the release will be made through digital social savings, handled by Caixa Tem.

You need to download the app on your cell phone. In it, you can shop, pay bills, perform Pix and transfer to other accounts. It is also possible to generate a code to withdraw money from agencies or lottery shops.

According to Caixa, if it is not possible to open a digital account, withdrawals can be made using the Citizen’s Card, with a password, at ATMs, Caixa branches, lottery shops or Caixa Aqui correspondents.

At Banco do Brasil, anyone who is not an account holder or saver will have to go to a branch and make a withdrawal at the counter. An official document with a photo is required, in addition to the CPF number.

For workers born in January and February, consultation of benefit information is now available through Caixa or Banco do Brasil applications, in addition to the Citizen Portal. For the others, the query is made on the MTE website, through the Digital Work Card application or by calling 158.

What to do if you don’t receive

The worker who believes he is entitled to the allowance, but is not on the list of beneficiaries, may appeal to the Ministry of Labor and Employment. It is also possible to present the appeal if you disagree with the amount to be paid.

Among the reasons for refusal are:

• Not having the minimum number of days worked
• The average salary was above the required
• First job with a formal contract or as a server in less than five years

The appeal is made online, at www.mte.gov.br/trabalho-e-previdencia. To access the form, click next to the name Ministry of Labor and Social Security, where you can see three dashes. Then choose “Service channels” and finally go to “Contact form”.

It will be necessary to fill in the document with the requested data. Enter CPF, full name, email, telephone, state where you live, subject and message. According to the MTE, in the subject, the worker must write “salary allowance”.

In the message, inform the reason for the dispute, if you want to receive it, but it is not on the list, or if you disagree with the amount. Then click “Send”. The answer will come by email.
