Still, he chose not to arrange for his loved ones to be frozen as well. It is not the first time that the billionaire has expressed interest in this type of technology. His foundation recently backed a company that plans to freeze pets when they die so they can be brought back to life, reports US business website Business Insider. In the podcast, the PayPal co-founder also declared that human beings must “conquer death, or at least discover why it’s impossible to do so”. Thiel has been a decades-long contributor to anti-aging research and has often said that the human race is distracted by infighting and cultural issues when it should be focusing on other issues, like curing cancer. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Thiel has a fortune of US$ 8.13 billion (approximately R$ 40 billion).
