Paula Lavigne, 54, wife of Caetano Veloso, 81, revealed that she and her husband no longer have sex. The businesswoman was one of the interviewees on the program “Angélica: 50 & tanto”, in a 40-year marriage with the singer, Lavigne made some specific revelations about the marriage.

“We stopped having sex, but we continued our partnership and union. Marriage has to have a plan. It does not stand on its own. Knowing how to adapt, because there are different phases: how will you overcome that phase and have a new phase, a new project”, said Paula, also mentioning the period in which the couple was separated.

In 2004, Caetano and Paula decided to separate, the end of their love union was quite turbulent at the time, but the two decided to maintain their professional partnership shortly after the couple resumed their marriage and remains strong until now with 40 years of relationship.

“The wedding was better than the separation”, commented Carolina Dieckmann, alongside Ivete Sangalo and Giovanna Ewbank, other guests who were on the program.

In the episode themed “Women”, Angélica wanted to know from Paula what it was like to be married to Caetano Veloso.

“I always quote Giulietta Masina (Italian actress who was married to Federico Fellini), who asked her: ‘what is it like to be married to a genius?’. And she said, ‘It’s so much better than being married to an idiot.’ It’s very good”, replied Paula.

‘I was the one who abused Caetano’
Paula and Caetano began dating when she was just 13 years old, the businesswoman and producer recalled that she lost her virginity to the singer: “When I started dating Caetano, I was an actress too, and all the harassment from the press on top of me was because I was dating him. Then I decided to be honest in an interview, tell stories that no one else tells, and then I told him that I had lost my virginity to him when I was 13. For me, it was a love story.”

“My father, a criminalist, already knew that I was not in that position where he needed to defend me. I think that if anyone abused anyone, it was me who abused Caetano. What people think is abuse in this sense. He loved it, okay people”, he added, laughing.
