Children under 12 years old will not be allowed to enter the Sambadrome
Manaus (AM) – The City of Manaus, through the Municipal Foundation of Culture, Tourism and Events (Manauscult), published Ordinance n.002/2023 of the Children and Youth Court which determines the participation and permanence of children and adolescents in party places and in Carnival celebrations, Carnaboi, Boi Manaus and Bar do Boi in the city of Manaus. The ordinance was signed by the Chief Judge for Children and Youth Infractions, Eliezer Fernandes Júnior, in April this year.
Children under 12 (twelve) years old, not even accompanied by parents or guardians, will be able to enter the Sambadrome to watch the Boi Manaus 2023. Those over 12 (twelve) years old will only be able to enter and remain at the event, provided with proof of age with photo, original or certified copy.
The director-president of Manauscult, Osvaldo Cardoso, highlighted that the determination will be followed by the ministry as it has done in all cultural events at Manaus City Hall.
“Our team is always careful to follow judicial and legal orders, and Boi Manaus would be no different. We are already publicizing the participation of children and adolescents so that there is no doubt”,
Cardoso pointed out.
According to the ordinance, minors under the age of 15 (fifteen) will only be able to participate accompanied by their legal guardians: father, mother, guardian or guardian, other ascendants or relatives up to the 3rd degree, as long as they are over 18 years old, all duly identified.
It also determines that the surveillance and inspection of the event will be carried out by the Commissioners for Children and Youth Offenders in cooperation with the authorities and agents of the Public Security Secretariat, the Military Police, the Guardianship Council and other organizations whose collaboration may be requested.
It is important to highlight that children and adolescents, under the age of 12, who are found at the location, will be taken and immediately handed over to their parents, legal guardian or the Guardianship Council (art. 136, I, ECA), through a “Referral Term”.
