There is a single exception in psychiatry and psychology, which involves cases of pathology, especially sexual psychopathology, related to sexual compulsion or compulsive and obsessive preferences that cannot be satisfied with a partner. In this context, the action is not considered betrayal, as it is the result of an illness”, begins the professional.

“Regarding the tendency to cheat, men have a greater tendency to cheat, as the element that prevents a man from cheating is passion. In current psychology, the term “love” is often associated with passion. When love is passionate, betrayal becomes impossible. There is no room for betrayal in a passionate relationship, which combines love and passion.”

“Men are more prone to betrayal”

“Social-marital relationships are those determined only by social union. In this context, vows of fidelity do not need to be expressed, as they are implicitly understood in any such relationship. This is why men are more prone to cheating, especially when they are not deeply in love.”

Cheating is often the result of sexual impulses, especially in men, while women, in rare cases, can cheat due to different circumstances.”

“It is essential to understand that passion plays an important role in preventing cheating. When there is passion, there is a fear of losing the loved one, which discourages betrayal. On the other hand, in the absence of passion, cheating may become more likely as the fear of losing the relationship diminishes.
