The collection “New Perspectives on Anti-Discrimination Law – Racial Advocacy” was launched last Wednesday (18) at the headquarters of the OAB (Brazilian Bar Association) in São Paulo.
The book was produced by students of the training course in racial advocacy at the NGO Educafro under the coordination of lawyers Irapuã Santana and Caroline Ramos, president and vice president, respectively, of the Racial Equality Commission of the OAB/SP.
During the course, technical aspects of Law were worked on, together with the analysis of legal issues from a racial point of view, such as abolitionist legislation, STF judgments on racial quotas and reduction of the age of criminal responsibility, which make up the collection.
“It is necessary to revisit and discuss the institutions and public policies from the point of view of the racial theme. For that, it is necessary to produce propositional content in order to provide subsidies so that the new designs do not persist in the exclusion of the Brazilian black population”, say the organizers.
The texts of the collection are signed by the 23 students of the first two editions of the Educafro specialization. The book is available for purchase on the Editora Juspodivm website.
