Nestlé opens 700 jobs for young people

Entries are open for the ninth edition of the YOCUTA (Young Culinary Talents) Program – Young Culinary Talents, in Portuguese. The course is a Nestlé initiative, and aims to train young people aged between 18 and 30 who are involved in or have experience with gastronomy. The training program has 700 places, registration is free and can be done until May 31, through the YOCUTA VIRTUAL website.

The course has a number of partner institutions, such as Le Cordon Bleu, Gerando Falcões, Senac, Senai and Grupo Mulheres do Brasil. Of the 700 young participants, the 60 who stood out the most during the training will be selected for a face-to-face journey, in São Paulo (SP), Porto Alegre (RS) and Fortaleza (CE).

In all, there will be ten classes over five weeks. Topics covered range from culinary techniques, chocolate, trends, nutrition, specialty coffees to subjects related to entrepreneurship.

“It is part of Nestlé’s commitment to transform the lives of young people through training, especially thinking about those who are in vulnerable situations. Therefore, the differential of the new edition of Yocuta is that students do not need to be enrolled in a university or technical gastronomy course, but must have some kind of experience in the area. Many young people do not have access to studies, but need initial support to enter the profession. Through our contact network, we also support participants to start their careers in this very competitive market”, comments Lucianne Fraga, Manager of Chef 2 Chef Nestlé Professional.

At the end of the training program, participants will be able to upload their resumes to the Nestlé Youth platform. Brand partner companies consult these resumes for future job opportunities. Upon completion of the program, students receive a World Chef Academy certificate.

The gastronomic training initiative is part of the Young Culinary Talents Program, created in 2015 with the aim of revealing culinary talents throughout Latin America. Globally, Nestlé aims to help 10 million young people gain access to job opportunities by 2030.
