The characteristics of the region and its importance for the country’s economic scenario motivated the creation of an event especially in the Amazon

Manaus (AM) – The first edition of Navalshore Amazônia starts this Wednesday (24th), with 55 stands, with more than 100 national and international brands. The event focused on the shipbuilding of vessels, which will bring together suppliers of products and services specialized in the naval sector, will take place for the first time in the Amazon, reinforcing the importance of the region for the sector.

For Marcos Godoy, director of Navalshore and Portos e Navios Magazine, the characteristics of the region and its importance for the country’s economic scenario motivated the creation of an event specifically in the Amazon.

“The Amazon region has its own logistics dynamics. Due to the fact that the river is the main road, the demand for floating means of transport is perennial. This is historic and provided the development of a powerful river industry, to serve both passenger and cargo transport”,

said the director.

On the other hand, even with the established sector, there are several challenges and demands that need to be discussed. “With the development of Arco Norte, transport in the region does not stop growing and the demand for logistics solutions will require investments so that shipyards grow, continuously increase productivity, with sustainability. And that’s where Navalshore operates”, says Marcos Godoy.

By promoting the meeting of product and service takers and their suppliers, the event contributes to the debate, creation of solutions and business. Parallel to the fair, there is the conference, with the participation of the main actors of this industry. “The shipbuilding industry in the region does not know the problems of the maritime shipbuilding industry, which depends on economic cycles and government policies. There is plenty of room for the river shipping industry in the Amazon region to reach a level of excellence and modernization,” says Godoy.

Also according to the coordinator, Navalshore has been held in Rio de Janeiro since 2004 and has been dating the North region for a long time.

“Our expectation in this first edition in Manaus is the best possible. The initiative was fully welcomed by companies, business entities and public authorities in Amazonas. The exhibition space is fully occupied and we were unable to attend to all the companies that requested space at the last minute”,
