The 31st edition of the National Wine Assessment, which takes place on November 4th, is the biggest in history. The event, organized by the Associação Brasileira de Enologia (ABE), has 516 confirmed samples, from 74 different wineries, in the states of Bahia, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo, in addition to the Federal District. .

“When the National Wine Assessment began, in 1992, we had 42 samples from 18 wineries in Rio Grande do Sul. Since then, we have witnessed the growth of the sector with the discovery of new producing regions. We have a condition that sets us apart from the world. There is no other country with such a diversity of terroirs, which allows us to market wines with completely different styles and, most importantly, with high quality”, highlights Ricardo Morari, president of ABE. “The evaluation is national, so we need to evaluate Brazilian wine. We are very happy to see that with each new harvest we advance with the adhesion of companies from different states”.

For the 31st edition of the evaluation, some modifications were made: reduction from three to two samples in the Base Wine for Sparkling Wine Category, the increase from one to two in the Young Red Wine, inserting a specific group for Pinot Noir, and the expansion of the possibility of winter harvest wine inscription.

Tickets can be purchased from August 29th through the website. The evaluation will have a hybrid format – 750 in-person tickets will be sold, in addition to 450 tasting kits for those who prefer to follow the event from home, through the ABE channel on YouTube.
