Born in São Gonçalo, her name is Isabela Oliveira and became known in music as a rapper. Before debuting on TV, Azzy also performed at the last edition of Rock in Rio. “I had already done a casting test on TV Globo five or six years ago. I was very nervous, I didn’t pass. “I left home at the age of 12 and threw myself into music. I wanted to take a course, theater, all those things that could add to it, but I didn’t have that opportunity. I’m now having this chance to study and invest in my acting career because I’ve found myself a lot. It’s the first soap opera I’m doing, but I’ve already staged it in my clips. I’m the one who writes the scripts for the clips and I’ve always worked a lot on this staging thing, telling a story. Added for me to be here. I never really imagined that my work could attract attention in this way ”, details the artist, who has said in interviews that she decided to leave home as a teenager after being a victim of sexual abuse.
“I’ve always been very involved with art and I’ve always seen myself acting, since I was a child I used to stand in front of the mirror talking to myself. For me, it’s been an opportunity to make room for people who come from the same place I came from, we bring credibility to the periphery as well. I come from this movement, I come from national rap, which is totally sexist and we don’t have room for anything. And I got this space, through my art, for people to look at Azzy and see what she brings to a soap opera, which will pass on to a young audience that follows my work a lot… It is an immense responsibility”, he completes.
In the novel, Ivy is a brave and very confident young woman who goes after the big chances that appear. “For me, it’s been an opportunity to make room for people who come from the same place I came from, we bring credibility to the periphery as well. I come from this movement, I come from national rap that is totally sexist, where we have no space for anything ”, she adds.
