Minister of Transport raises construction target for May – 04/20/2023 – Panel SA

Within the approximately R$ 20 billion budget of the Ministry of Transport for this year, R$ 3.3 billion were committed until April for the duplication, paving and other works of 2,158 kilometers of highways, according to the ministry, while the initial target for the period was to invest R$ 1.7 billion in the recovery and resumption of works in 1,523 kilometers.
Although it hired almost twice as much as expected, the pace of execution is still below what is needed to reach the level of R$ 20 billion and invest the total budget.
Minister Renan Filho’s goal, according to the organ, is to reach R$ 6 billion pledged by the beginning of May. The DNIT (National Department of Transport Infrastructure) should bid for new projects starting this month.
