Mel Maia talks about her work in ‘Vai na fé’, says she is vain and remembers the beginning of her relationship with MC Daniel: ‘It won me over’

Mel Maia proves to be much more mature than Guiga, the futile digital influencer played by her in “Vai na fé”. At the age of 18 and almost 18 million followers on Instagram, the actress, known since she was 7 after acting in “Avenida Brasil” (2012), swears not to give importance to the comments of haters on the networks. This Tuesday, the 14th, after reporting having suffered an assault, Mel said he had received many messages of hate and debauchery. Interviewed by the column, she talks about her relationship with the public on the web, her work and her relationship with MC Daniel.

In “Vai na fé”, Guiga has been maturing after his father’s arrest. How will this process be?

Soap opera is cool because it has a thousand possibilities. There’s still a lot of history, and I think she’s going to experience a lot of feelings.

Guiga is stylish and vain. And you? What is your biggest vanity?

I am vain, I like to take care of myself and feel good. But it is a vanity in a place of self-esteem. I think we all need to have. I take care of my diet, my body, I like to take care of my skin, my hair… I have my self-care rituals, which is time that I take for myself.

How do you deal with people’s opinions and criticisms on the networks?

It has already affected me! Now it doesn’t affect me anymore. I focus on what’s cool and stay true to who I am. I can’t give importance to someone who wants to put me down.

Are some people still surprised to see you at 18? What was it like growing up as a well-known TV actress?

It was normal! I lived through this period, I went through transformations. I think it impresses people who don’t live with me more, who have the feeling that I jumped from 10 to 18 (laughs). I have a very nice family that has always guided me.

What are the biggest advantages and disadvantages of networks?

Advantage is talking directly with those who like my work. Disadvantage is the hater who doesn’t even know why he’s there on his page distilling hate.

Why did you take so long to announce that you were dating?

I don’t think I took too long, but I think I have the right to live something privately and then share it. I don’t feel like I have to post everything. I would never hide. But in fact, Daniel and I were friends in the beginning. He was conquering me.

Do you get sung a lot on the networks? How do you deal with it?

You know I’m not the most attentive to understand sung (laughs)?! And there are messages that I find disrespectful and delete.
