Funkeiro will change his artistic name and wants to take the word of God to other young people
The life of Jefferson Cristian dos Santos de Lima, or rather MC Bin Laden, changed drastically 10 years ago, when he abandoned a life of addictions, depression and disbelief, after being adopted by pastor Mariza Ventura, from the God is Love Pentecostal Church. Since then, the BBB 24 participant started going to services at the small church where his mother attended and, little by little, converted to the evangelical religion and “accepted Jesus”.
First he stopped using marijuana, which he used throughout his adolescence. “He was a young drug addict. Jefferson smoked marijuana,” said the pastor, in an interview with a religious program. Then, it was bin Laden’s turn to give up alcohol. It’s been seven years without drinking.
“It wasn’t just through the church, but I had an encounter with Jesus. I’m not talking about religion, but about walking with it, understanding that it has a purpose”, he explained, in an interview with the “Papagaio Falante” podcast, in 2022.
Coincidence or not, it was precisely at this time that the funk player’s greatest success emerged. “It’s okay, it’s okay” came out when he was already frowning on everything: “I even felt a bit like launching it at the time, but if it happened it was because there was a reason”.
He already thinks about. In the future, launch into gospel music. First he intends to change his stage name, which has already caused him some problems, such as not being able to perform in New York.
“I sing secular music, the church knows this, and thank God mine is very calm, it is my livelihood. But I want to do gospel, yes. But not to make money with gospel, it’s to rescue the souls of other young people like me”, he plans. In some services, Bin Laden has already given, in addition to the testimony of his conversion, some hints about his future in music.
