According to the organization maintained by the companies Samarco, BHP Billiton and Vale, the amount is 54% higher than the total transferred to victims during the year 2021.
The list of indemnities covers around 409,000 people, and the total amount paid is R$13.5 billion since the dam collapse, according to the foundation.
In the environmental disaster, more than 40 million cubic meters of mining waste from Samarco traveled 663 kilometers, reaching municipalities in Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo until reaching the ocean.
