Maria Almada presents partnerships with Gastão Villeroy (‘Instabilidade’) and Miltinho Edilberto (‘Saudade tem livre’) in the authorial repertoire of her first album Leo Aversa / Disclosure ♪ Journalist involved with music since childhood, Maria Almada decided to invest in her singing career and composer. The artist has scheduled the release of her first album for the beginning of 2024, based on romantic Brazilianness. But the artist’s debut on the music market takes place this Friday, September 15th, with the release of the single Mar da midnight, recorded with musical production by São Paulo guitarist and composer Miltinho Edilberto. Formatted in the studio with the touch of Pablo Moura’s accordion and Miltinho Edilberto himself (strings, piano and percussion), Mar da midnight is xote composed by Almada at the end of 2021. The northeastern rhythm refers to the origin of Almada, born and raised In Ceara. However, the singer-songwriter goes beyond the arc of northeastern music in the upcoming album, whose repertoire – mostly authored and signed solely by the artist – includes partnerships between Almada and Gastão Villeroy (Instabilidade) and Miltinho Edilberto (Saudade tem livre). “I’m doing a funk kind of pop and also something more folky. This album will be a little bit of everything I am living and composing freely”, says the artist. Outside the predominant authorial field, Maria Almada re-records the northeastern hit Remembrance of a kiss (Accioly Neto, 1994) – a song presented in the voice of Fagner and revived by the singer in a duet with the recurring Miltinho Edilberto – and Amor por telephone (1996), a partnership by Alípio Martins (1944 – 1997) with Paulo Rossy voiced by Alípio from Pará.
