Patrícia Souza already paraded in wings of the Mangueira community before her transition. Today, at the age of 28, she is celebrating her fourth consecutive carnival as the muse of Verde e Rosa, having been the first trans woman to hold the post at the traditional samba school in Rio. For the making of her costume, within the plot “As Áfricas que a Bahia sings”, the muse brought stones from abroad. “I was in Australia recently and was blown away by the opals. I decided to give myself this gift and refine my fantasy a little more, since we are facing such a representative plot, which exalts women ”, she says.
