Manaus (AM) – The immunization campaign against Covid-19 continues in the capital, and Manaus City Hall advises the population to seek the vaccine against the disease at one of the 74 points available in the municipal network this week, from Monday to Wednesday (5th to 7). According to the Municipal Health Secretariat (Semsa), responsible for the action, there will be no vaccinations on Thursday (8), Corpus Christi holiday, or on Friday (9), an optional point in the municipality.

The holder of Semsa, Shádia Fraxe, points out that vaccination points are distributed throughout the capital, with nine units offering the service at extended hours, from 8 am to 8 pm, to facilitate access to the vaccine for those who study or work during normal hours. commercial. The other establishments are open from 8am to 5pm, and the complete list, with addresses and hours, is available on the website semsa.manaus.am.gov.br and on the link bit.ly/localvacinacovid19.

“It is essential that everyone follow the updated vaccination schedule to keep the disease under control in Manaus. Just go to the health unit closest to your home, and don’t forget to take the children too, as the vaccine is available for everyone from 6 months of age”,

points out the secretary.

Shádia advises parents or guardians of babies from 6 months and children under 12 years old to look for one of the specific childhood vaccination units. Among them, 14 are aimed at immunizing children between 6 months and 4 years of age, and 34 are aimed at administering doses to children between 5 and 11 years of age.

Users must present a photo ID, CPF or National Health Card (CNS) and vaccine card to receive the vaccine against Covid-19, according to the doses and intervals recommended by the Ministry of Health. The consultation of the vaccination status and the doses to be applied can be done on the Imuniza Manaus online platform (imuniza.manaus.am.gov.br).

Monovalent and bivalent

At the immunization points, monovalent vaccines, Coronavac, Pfizer and Janssen, are offered to the adult public who want to start or complete the primary scheme of 1st and 2nd doses, and also for adolescents aged 12 to 17 years as a 3rd booster dose. Children aged 6 months to under 5 years receive the Pfizer baby (wine cap), and those aged 5 to 11 years receive the Pfizer pediatric (orange cap).

The municipal health service also offers the bivalent vaccine for all people aged 18 and over, and for people aged 12 and over who are immunosuppressed, with comorbidities, with permanent disabilities, residents of long-term institutions, pregnant women, puerperal women, indigenous people and maroons. To receive the immunizer, the user must have taken the second dose of the primary scheme or any booster dose at least four months ago.

The bivalent vaccine makes it possible to avoid severe forms of Covid-19 and prevent outcomes such as hospitalization and death, reinforcing the body’s protection against the original strains of the new coronavirus (Sars-CoV-19) and the subvariants of Omicron.
