January is almost over and so are the children’s holidays, but for those of you who still want to enjoy the end of them, the capital of Amazonas offers a variety of events. The schedule has extreme sports, visits to cultural and artistic spaces and much more, for you to take your family.
For those who enjoy outdoor sports, the tip is EcoForest Adventure, which offers an adventure space for children, such as zip lines, trails, a climbing wall and an environmental workshop. The space is 39 kilometers from Manaus, on the BR-174 highway.
If you like to get to know the city on the go, the tip is the Amazonbus, the double-decker tourist bus, which takes you on a tour of the capital, starting at Largo São Sebastião, Market Municipal Adolpho Lisboa, visiting the historic center, Arena da Amazônia, Ponta Negra and Rio Negro Bridge.
The tours on the Amazonbus have tour guides accredited in the Registry of Tourist Service Providers (Cadastur), who tell the stories and curiosities of the tourist attractions. Amazonians, seniors and students pay half price. For more information about the tours, just contact Eder Lima at (92) 98807-5519.
The “Holiday Festival” of the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy is another option to get distracted. The event takes place in 11 cultural spaces of the Government of the State of Amazonas, with programs designed for children. Registration is free and can be done at the Portal da Cultura (www.cultura.am.gov.br), on Monday (01/23).
This Sunday (22), the Museum of the Amazon (Musa) celebrates its 14th anniversary and to celebrate the visit, without a guide and without prior booking, it can be purchased at the cost of R$ 5 at the museum’s ticket office. Another attraction for those who enjoy nature is the Bosque da Ciência, there you can visit the Casa da Ciência, alligator and turtle nurseries, bee condominium and educational trails are attractions in their own right.
