Manaus Industrial Pole earns BRL 161.5 billion in 2022

The Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM) recorded revenues of R$ 161.5 billion in the period from January to November 2022, which represents an increase of 7.97% in comparison with the result obtained in the same period of 2021 (R$ 149 .57 billion). In dollars, PIM revenues up to November were US$ 31.56 billion, indicating growth of 13.55%, the same for the period of 2021 (US$ 27.79 billion).
The superintendent of the Manaus Free Zone, interim, Ana Maria Souza, says that the revenue of R$ 161.5 billion registered until November, represents a new record of revenue of the PIM and that, in addition, the evolution of the employability indexes over the during the second half of the year also deserves to be highlighted.
“We are still consolidating December data, but we estimate global revenues of over BRL 170 billion in 2022 and more than 110,000 direct jobs. These are results that reinforce the importance of the industrial park installed in the Amazon and enhance its contributions to economic movement and the stimulation of the quality of life of the regional population”, he said.

In the first eleven months of 2022, PIM exports totaled US$ 534.82 million, which represents an increase of 27.71% in comparison with the volume of foreign sales registered in the same period of 2021 (US$ 418.77 million).
With regard to manpower, the PIM recorded, in November, a total of 114,046 workers, including permanent, temporary and outsourced workers. The indicator represents the second best monthly PIM employability result in 2022 and an increase of 3.9% compared to November 2021 (109,761 workers).
With the results obtained until November, the monthly average of PIM jobs in 2022 was 109,807 workers – growth of 4.03% compared to the monthly average for the same period of 2021 (105,550 workers).
Segments and products
Segments of great representation in the PIM in terms of revenue, investments and job creation had positive results in the period from January to November 2022. These are the cases, for example, of the Electronics sectors (including IT goods), with revenues of BRL 78.05 billion and growth of 8.37%; Two Wheels with revenues of R$ 24.27 billion and growth of 30.2%; Chemical with revenues of R$ 13.57 billion and growth of 11.62%; Thermoplastic with revenues of R$ 13.94 billion and growth of 6.14%; and Metallurgical with revenues of R$ 12.65 billion and growth of 2.18%.
Among the main products manufactured by PIM, the biggest highlights in the period from January to November 2022 were cell phone lines, with 14,704,077 units produced and an increase of 10.38%; motorcycles, scooters and mopeds with 1,350,048 units produced and an increase of 18.72%; televisions with LCD and OLED screens with 10,149,894 units produced, an increase of 3.51%; and monitors with LCD screen (use in information technology), with 2,984,333 units and an increase of 100.79%.
