China – This Saturday (9), Suframa participated in the 1st Seminar for Economic and Trade Cooperation between Chinese Provinces and Brazilian States, which took place at the International Convention Center in Xiamen, in the Province of Fujian, China.
The event is part of the activities of the 23rd edition of the China International Investment and Trade Fair (CIFIT 2023), which runs until this Monday (11) in the city of Xiamen, with Brazil being one of the three invited countries, with with a pavilion managed by ApexBrasil.
The seminar was organized by the Council for the Promotion of International Trade of China, the Government of Xiamen and the Department of Commerce of Fujian, and was supported by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), the Chinese Embassy in Brazil and the Council Brazil-China Business, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Government of Fujian Province.
On the occasion, Suframa’s General Coordinator for Foreign Trade and International Affairs, Arthur de Freitas Lisboa, presented the regulatory frameworks for extra-fiscal incentives administered by the Autarchy, highlighting the region’s attractions for Chinese investors, such as legal security, the sustainability of the Manaus Free Trade Zone project, the main industry segments and the socioeconomic indicators of the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM), in addition to highlighting the potential of the Western Amazon States and the Free Trade Areas managed by Suframa.
Several government and business authorities and representatives from both countries were also present at the event, in addition to companies interested in learning about investment opportunities in the country.
Business
After the end of the seminar, Suframa participated in a business meeting, at which several Chinese companies were able to learn more about the ZFM and resolve doubts regarding the implementation of manufacturing projects in the Western Amazon, with companies in the goods segments being attended. IT and telecommunications, electronics, renewable energy, thermoplastics, clothing, food and beverages.

Prospection
Suframa’s participation in the 23rd CIFIT is yet another action planned and carried out within the scope of Suframa’s New Business Prospecting Plan, being the first one outside the country in the year.
Some of the companies contacted have even been monitored for some time by Suframa’s technical team, based on a webinar held last year with Chinese investors, as is the case of a Chinese company that is in the process of setting up in the ZFM for the production of photovoltaic inverters, who made a point of meeting with Suframa during the business meeting and invited the Municipality, on a future occasion, to visit one of the company’s factories in the country.
Suframa’s superintendent, Bosco Saraiva, pointed out that the institution’s participation in international events is part of the management’s strategy to boost the region’s economy and strengthen the ZFM project.
“China is now Brazil’s main trading partner, so it is essential, in order to attract new investments, that we carry out active prospecting in loco, thus reaching our target audience of potential investors for our area of operation”,
