Lula says he will launch a works program in July – 06/13/2023 – Market

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) said this Tuesday (13) that he will launch in early July a large program of infrastructure works in several areas.

The representative added that the first months were destined to the “reconstruction” of the country, with priority given to the launching of public policies that marked the previous PT administrations.

“As we had a huge number of public policies that had worked, we decided to recreate these public policies, so that from now on, starting on July 2nd, we can launch a great program of works, a great program for the development country, with infrastructure works in all areas,” said the president.

Lula also said that he wants to launch a program of agricultural implements.

This Tuesday morning (13), Lula carried out his first live broadcast on social networks, a strategy by Secom (Secretary of Communication of the Presidency of the Republic) for the president to dialogue directly with the population.

The live was performed directly from Palácio do Alvorada. The president was interviewed by the presenter of EBC (Empresa Brasil de Comunicação) Marcos Uchôa.

The lives format became popular during the government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The former president used his traditional Thursday lives to try to convey his message, without any kind of sieve.

In these broadcasts, Bolsonaro questioned the effectiveness of vaccines, the safety of electronic voting machines, in addition to attacking his opponents, from parliamentarians to ministers of the Federal Supreme Court.

Bolsonaro was also heavily criticized for using the structure of the Palácio do Alvorada and public officials to carry out the transmission.

When he announced that the president would do lives, the minister of Secom, Paulo Pimenta, had said that the president would not mirror himself in Jair Bolsonaro. However, when talking about the plans to the progressive website Brasil 247, Pimenta had said that the “commercial media” was not an “ally” and that therefore the president would start carrying out these transmissions.

In his first passage through the Presidency, Lula had a weekly radio program produced by the state-owned EBC, called Café com o Presidente. The program had an interview format and was also aired on National radio.
