Lula receives Alberto Fernández for meeting and dinner at Alvorada – 02/05/2023 – Market

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) received the Argentine Chief Executive, Alberto Fernández, this Tuesday (2nd), at the Alvorada Palace, to discuss the economic crisis in the neighboring country.

The meeting was anticipated by the Panel. The Brazilian government’s expectation was to advance negotiations on economic measures to expand commercial partnerships between the two nations.

Fernández arrived around 5:40 pm for the meeting, which did not end until 8:30 pm. Afterwards, the representatives would participate in a dinner.

“It is a pleasure to receive my friend @alferdez today at the Alvorada Palace. Brazil and Argentina are sister countries and we will have increasingly prosperous relations with one of the biggest commercial partners in our country and our industry. Together we are stronger”, Lula wrote in the Twitter.

One of the actions being discussed by the economic teams in each country was the creation of incentives for Brazilian companies that export to Argentina.

The meeting and dinner, on the part of Brazil, were ministers Fernando Haddad (Finance), Mauro Vieira (Foreign Relations), Geraldo Alckmin (Industry, Commerce and Services), the Executive Secretary of Finance, Gabriel Galípolo, and the president from BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante.

As for the Argentine delegation, in addition to the Chief Executive, the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, Chancellor Santiago Cafiero, Secretary of the Presidency, Julio Vitobello, Secretary of Communication, Gabriela Cerruti, Minister of Social Development, Tolosa Paz, and Presidential Chief of Staff Agustin Rossi.

Argentine First Lady Fabiola Yañez also accompanied the meeting at the Alvorada Palace.
