Lula must sign MP that recreates INSS productivity bonus this week, says Lupi

The Minister of Social Security, Carlos Lupi, said this Monday (10) that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) must sign the provisional measure (MP) that will recreate the payment of productivity bonuses for employees of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) this week.

The measure aims to make employees able to analyze more requests for benefits, in an effort to reduce the queue. By the end of June, around 1.8 million requests were awaiting medical expertise and administrative analysis related to benefits such as retirement, pension, maternity pay, assistance for the elderly and people with disabilities.

“Today, there is an average of 800,000 requests each month, in addition to the queue. For three consecutive months we have been serving more initial order requirements, that is, we are serving more than we receive. The productivity bonus makes the counter shift call”, he said. “You have a normal shift and you will have an after shift, in which the server will receive a bonus to be able to do only the queue. So we will start at the end of the queue, which is around a year, until today Our intention is to have the entire queue covered by the law by December, which is a 45-day delay,” he added.

On the 5th, the Ministry of Social Security launched the Social Security Transparency Portal. On the internet, any citizen can consult the size and profile of the INSS queue. Until the end of last month, 36% of orders were within the target of up to 45 days. The minister also cited computerization and agreements with ministries and public bodies as ways to optimize INSS production.

Lupi stated that the country should reach the end of the year with around 39 million insured persons, the minister defended public spending on retirees and pensioners. “Anyone who thinks it’s an expense doesn’t know what an investment is. Sixty percent of Brazilian municipalities are supported by Social Security benefits. This month it was R$ 60 billion. It is not spent investing in the economy, ”he said.
