Manaus (AM) – The Centro de Ensino Literatus promotes this Tuesday (27th), at 7 pm, and Wednesday (28th), at 6:30 pm, at Rua Pará, in Vieiralves, the Nutrition Day. The event will feature a lecture and a bakery workshop.
The Nutrition Day also coincides with the date that marks the Day of the Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, celebrated this Tuesday. “This year’s theme is the Job Market for Nutrition Technicians. We want to show how essential these professionals are in several areas that demand access to food”, explains Literatus’ pedagogical coordinator, Ana Cláudia Ferreira.
The representative of Amazonas on the Nutrition Council, Maurício Rafael, will speak on Tuesday, addressing the importance of the professional for the job market and will also advise on how to join the Nutrition Council.
“Today, more and more people are concerned about the quality of the food they consume. That is why the technician in Nutrition and Dietetics is so fundamental today because he works in several fields: in the area of food production, in quality control and food waste within the production process; in the hospital area both in the production and distribution of hospital diets, bringing the guarantee of recovery to the patient, in addition to the various areas of the industry”,
explains Maurício, who has been working as a nutritionist for over 20 years.
On Wednesday, students of the Technical in Nutrition course at Literatus will participate in a baking workshop with chef Jerry Matos, who has a degree in Gastronomy and a post-graduate degree in Food Safety. In the workshop, students will learn four recipes: homemade bread, wholemeal cake and wholemeal biscuit.
Technical graduation
The Centro de Ensino Literatus offers a technical course in Nutrition and Dietetics for people who are interested in quickly entering a career focused on food care. As it is a mid-level course, the student completes the training in just two years.
The nutritionist and member of the Nutrition Council, Maurício Rafael, draws attention to the broad field of expertise of the Nutrition technician. “This professional is fundamental in the entire production process. It can act in all areas where food is the primary source and where it is necessary to have access to food”.
At Literatus, the head office for technical courses in Nutrition is on Rua Pará, in Vieiralves.
