The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), said that he is still negotiating with governors, mayors and businessmen “in search of a consensus” to vote on the tax reform until Friday (7). The deputy called for a concerted effort this week with the aim of approving projects on the economic agenda.
“Together with the party leaders, President Lira is convinced that he will achieve consensus to put the tax reform proposal to be voted on by Friday”, said the advisory of the president of the Chamber, in a note.
Parliamentarians have not yet reached an agreement on the matter. In addition, governors and mayors are in Brasilia to negotiate parts of the tax reform. As a result, the process cannot move forward. That night, the rapporteur for the reform, Aguinaldo Ribeiro (PP-PB), met with governors to discuss the proposals.
