Lira says administrative reform is the “next movement”

The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), said this Monday (24) that the administrative reform “is ready” and should be the “next movement” in the House. The text, sent by the Bolsonaro government in 2020, has already been approved by a special commission and can be analyzed by the plenary of the Chamber.
“We are going to deal with administrative reform. It is ready for the plenary, it needs mobilization from everyone… It will provide a ceiling for our expenses and predictability for the public service. It’s the next movement,” said Lira during an event held by Lide – Grupo de Líderes Empresariais, in São Paulo.
In addition, the deputy defended that Congress complete the vote on the tax reform before “opening a new flank”. Last week, the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, stated that the government intends to send to the Chamber a project on the taxation of closed-end investment funds. These funds are aimed at the so-called super-rich.
“I think politically it is a big risk to open several flanks of discussion. Let’s wait for the tax reform to be completed so that we can move forward in this other aspect of taxing income and funds”, said Lira.
