Manaus (AM) – Social volunteering initiative by the Nelson Willians Institute (INW) aimed at expanding the educational and professional perspectives of young people served by social organizations, the “Líderes que Inspiram” project closes the year’s activities in Manaus with a special action at the “Associação Beneficente O Little Nazarene.” The event takes place this Friday (1), from 1pm to 5pm, aimed at young people served by the partner entity of the third sector organization.

President of INW – a non-profit organization created in 2017, which works to democratize opportunities and mitigate existing social inequalities in the country –, lawyer and administrator Anne Wilians highlights that the objective of the meeting is to inspire and mobilize these young people through life experiences shared by project volunteers. In total, 1,243 young people participated in “Líderes que Inspiram” this year, 450 from the state of Amazonas.

“These meetings provide an environment rich in exchanges and inspiration. During this period, our volunteers share their life stories, allowing the young beneficiaries to broaden their views on the different possible paths. This direct connection provides the participating public with the opportunity to develop significant repertoires in the personal, professional and educational spheres, through contact with real narratives”,

points out the president.

Legal supervisor of the initiative developed by the social investment arm of Nelson Wilians Advogados and volunteer-ambassador of the office’s unit in Manaus, lawyer Bruna Magalhães details that the meeting will address educational and professional development, considering the path of this development, the possible choices, setting goals and facing difficulties.

“We chose to hold one of the last events of the year at OSC Pequeno Nazareno, considering the consolidated partnership and the mobilized territory. Furthermore, we highlight the incredible work they do with young people, making the partnership meaningful and aligned with the Institute’s objectives,”

states.

Managing partner of Nelson Wilians Advogados, working in Manaus, lawyer Sergio Vieira emphasizes that the Institute makes a point of training volunteers so that execution is autonomous and the focal points guarantee the action script on the day, making it possible to expand the project and number of territories mobilized.

“The main achievements of the project were the connection with different territories and realities, the solid partnership with social organizations aligned with our purposes and, of course, the inspiration directed to the young people served, who were able to expand their repertoires of action and possibilities for personal development and educational”,

highlights.

Social impact

More than 64 thousand people and more than 280 partner social organizations working in professional education and productive inclusion of young people have already been directly impacted by INW projects in Education and Law, carried out in Manaus and fifteen other cities in Brazil.

In addition to “Líderes que Inspiram” – which allows young people served in partner social organizations to have access to the professional environment of Nelson Wilians Advogados –, other projects developed in Amazonas are worth highlighting: “Sharing the Law”, operating in partnership with the Foundation Sustainable Amazon (FAS) in riverside and indigenous communities, such as the Community of Tumbira and Aldeia Três Unidos, of the Kambeba People, to bring knowledge and awareness actions about fundamental rights; and “Cidadaniar”, a project in partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco), signed in April 2022, to promote education for global citizenship in vulnerable communities in some regions of Brazil , including the state of Amazonas.
