Just like sister Lexa and mother Darlin Ferrattry, Wenny Isa, just 13 years old, is queen of drums. The youngest of the family parades ahead of Unidos de Bangu, in the Série Ouro, this Saturday. On Sunday, she returns to Sapucaí as princess of the musicians of the Serrano Empire, in the Special Group. Wenny was born right around the time Darlin walked away from the revelry. However, the love for carnival reached her too. Just as Lexa passed the Unidos de Bangu crown to her mother, Darlin passed it on to her youngest daughter, who debuted at the post last year:
— My mother stopped parading when I was not yet born. But she transferred that love of samba to Lexa and me after she returned to the parade. I started accompanying her to rehearsals and fell in love with Carnaval!
Starting her trajectory in samba, the girl wants to do well on Avenida and even took samba lessons with Mayara Lima, queen of drums from Paraíso do Tuiuti.
— I am very anxious and nervous, but in the certainty that I will dedicate myself to the fullest. I try to get the best out of the reviews, as long as they are positive. But there are people who just want to hurt each other. In my heart, there’s only gratitude and determination to give myself completely to the shows – says Wenny.
Despite the “royal blood” running through her veins, the girl says she doesn’t consider herself a princess or queen in everyday life.
“I imagine princesses and queens being treated differently. I like to samba and be happy, I lead the life of a normal teenager. But for my mother and sister, I’m a princess (laughs).
