The contractors Odebrecht, Andrade and Gutierrez and UTC can now compete for contracts with Petrobras again. In May, they were qualified and entered the oil company’s list of pre-qualified suppliers. Previously, these construction companies had been prevented from doing business with the state-owned company for involvement in the billionaire corruption scheme unveiled by Lava Jato, known as “petrolão”. The information was revealed by Folha de S. Paulo and confirmed by People’s Gazette.
“The three companies mentioned applied and proved that they met the technical requirements requested, as well as other companies, which totaled thirty-one, according to the list of Pre-Qualified suppliers released on 05/23/2023 at Petronect”, informed the press office of Petrobras press.
According to Petrobras, the pre-qualification of suppliers before the bidding process allows the company to already have a list of companies that meet the “technical qualification conditions necessary for the supply of goods or the execution of the service or work to occur within the deadlines and other previously established conditions”.
The state-owned company also informed that companies that maintain a relationship with Petrobras must “demonstrate compliance with the Petrobras Compliance Program, assume the commitment to comply with anti-corruption laws and applicable policies, procedures and integrity rules, as well as being free from any sanctions impediments”.
