Last day for feature and short film registrations at Mostra Manaus Filme Fantástico 2023

The fourth edition of the Manaus Fantástico Film Festival, which stands out for its exclusivity to the horror, fantasy and suspense genre, is open for registration until today (13), on the Culture Portal (www.cultura.am.gov.br). Non-competitive in nature, the exhibition will be held from November 22nd to 25th, at Cineteatro Guarany, Avenida Sete de Setembro, Center of Manaus.

Registration is free and started on September 22nd, and national and international shorts, feature films and documentaries can participate, covering all genres and categories (LGBTQI+, suspense, animation, horror and fantasy).

Manaus Filme Fantástico is an initiative of the State Government, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. This edition pays homage to Amazonian filmmaker Z Leão, born in Anori (195 kilometers from Manaus), who began acting in cinema at the age of 15 in a German production, in the municipality of Barcelos.

According to the event coordinator, Márcio Nascimento, last year, 100 films were registered, a number that should be surpassed this season. “We have many documentaries that focus on the topic and that now have the opportunity to be shown at the exhibition, as well as an invitation to all other segments and genres”said Mario.

Rules for submitting films: Shorts and mini documentaries must be a maximum of 15 minutes long and feature films and documentaries must be a minimum of 70 minutes.

When registering, participants must attach the following documents: “Copyright Term Authorizing the Exhibition of a Cinematographic Work” It is “Copyright Agreement for Authorization of Use of Image and Sound – 4th Edition Mostra Manaus Filme Fantástico 2023”duly completed and signed.

Cinematographic works with third-party soundtracks, without the appropriate usage license, cannot be entered. The films received will be curated and those selected will be communicated via email and social media @culturadoam.
