Livraria Cultura obtained, this Thursday (16), an injunction that suspends the bankruptcy process decreed last week. Judge JB Franco de Godoi’s decision accepted the request of the holding company that controls the network and determined a “more accurate review of the body of evidence supporting the sentence”. In last week’s order, Judge Ralpho Waldo de Barros Monteiro Filho says that Livraria Cultura was not providing the necessary information in the judicial recovery process, such as the payment of labor claims and financial movements of the partners.

The request for judicial recovery was signed by the network in 2018, with debts that reached BRL 285.4 million at the time. Livraria Cultura stores are still open and in operation.
