Taking advantage of the tool’s facilities, Judge André Muquy created a WhatsApp group to interact with lawyers in the Comarca de Codajás

Coari (AM) – The exchange of instant messages with several people at the same time makes WhatsApp one of the most used electronic applications at the moment. Taking advantage of the tool’s facilities, Judge André Muquy, who is currently responsible for the District of Codajás (240 kilometers from Manaus), created a WhatsApp group to interact with lawyers.

According to the magistrate, the idea of ​​​​the WhatsApp group came up during the pandemic when he was in the Comarca de Tefé (523 kilometers from Manaus). The objective, according to him, is to facilitate communication between lawyers, the judge and civil servants in the district, in addition to contributing to bringing Justice closer to legal professionals in the municipality.

“The idea of ​​​​WhatsApp is not new, it came about during the pandemic, when I was in the Comarca de Tefé. So with telework it was very complicated for the lawyers not only to dispatch, but to attend the forum and charge the servers for certain movements. Before, there was already a number for email messages just for lawyers, but with telecommuting it made it more complicated for them to have access to the server, with the magistrate they even had it. So I set up a group with lawyers working in the district and civil servants. Each server was responsible for an area, be it civil, family, criminal. So when there was a charge, some specific order, that particular server in the group was already charged”,

explains Muquy.

For the judge, even after the creation of the virtual counter, as it is a way for the court to serve directly, the group works more effectively, because the guidance he maintains for the servers is that the movement desired by the lawyer be placed in the group itself.

“He puts the process number and the server only responds after completing the act. So I can also have control over the movements of the court and the satisfaction of the lawyers.”

The magistrate, who came from Rio de Janeiro and has been working in the interior of Amazonas for 10 years, says that he seeks to have a very democratic management and always listen to the opinion of lawyers on the week of certain topics and times of hearings.

“I seek to reach a consensus that meets the interests of lawyers, as well as the judiciary, allowing the population itself to approach. I think that this somewhat old view of the separate judiciary does not favor anything. When we listen to the opinion of the lawyers and the court itself, we end up being able to see where it ‘bleeds’ more, where the biggest problem is, so we direct forces”,

affirm.

According to Muquy, it is necessary to humanize the processes more. “Each demand has a person, there is a problem involved there, it is not just that dispatch, there is a problem, there is a life within that process.”

Incidence of violent crimes

According to Muquy’s experience for many years in the interior of Amazonas, one of the demands that most dominates the interior is the incidence of violent crimes, which according to him, is noticeable in the interior the use of narcotics and to sustain this addiction, people commit theft. And for him, the role of the judiciary, as it is an impartial body, is to communicate between child protection bodies, Creas, the city hall.

“I always try to visit the bodies and have this closeness with people and servers, not just that institutional contact. I think that today the judge does not have to just judge the process, he has a very extra-procedural role, mainly in the countryside”.

For him, the legal professional, whether acting in the Public Ministry, Defender or Judiciary, who works in the countryside, has a very important role in society.

“He has a personal satisfaction more than in the capital, because if he really wants to work and help, he can realize himself to make social changes and improve people’s lives”,

he said.
