Josué Gomes and Skaf sew an agreement at Fiesp, and the president remains in office

Understand the case Last Thursday (19), three days after the opposition of Josué Gomes voted for his removal from office, Fiesp issued a note stating that Gomes continued as president. The decision to leave is also not recognized by the businessman’s defense. Last Friday (20), opponents met and announced the inauguration of Elias Miguel Haddad as interim president. In response, the president of Fiesp issued an internal statement to employees saying that the appointment of the substitute is not valid and that those responsible for the acts will suffer consequences. Beginning of the imbroglio The meeting that decided to remove Gomes, held on January 16, had a heated atmosphere. According to reports from participants, in the first stage of the meeting, after 2:30 pm, Josué Gomes defended points of his management. A first vote was taken on whether or not the board would accept his defense allegations. Of the approximately 90 voters, 60 were against the president’s appointments and 24 were in favor. According to reports, after a new attempt by the participants to put his dismissal to a vote, Josué decided to end the first session after 7 pm. Afterwards, the representatives who remained in the assembly decided to open a second session – previously scheduled for the same day. This, however, was not attended by the president, who withdrew. At that moment, the vote for dismissal was held, with fewer participants. There were 47 votes in favor of Josué’s removal, one vote against and two abstentions.
