The 74-year-old singer-songwriter began treatment at home

In a note released on his Instagram profile, singer Jorge Aragão. 74 years old, revealed that he was diagnosed with non-Hodkin’s lymphoma, a rare type of cancer. The note also explained that the singer-songwriter will immediately start treatment” and that “he will maintain his professional commitments as much as possible”.

The artist will not need to be hospitalized so far, performing the procedures at home.

Jorge Aragão da Cruz is a singer, sambista and composer, from Padre Miguel, Rio de Janeiro on March 1, 1949.

His compositions were hugely successful in the voices of Alcione, Zeca Pagodinho, Dona Ivone Lara, Martinho da Vila and Beth Carvalho, among other great names in Brazilian music. Aragão is responsible for hits like The show must go on, Friendship, Bread paper, Eleven train, Passion spell and others.
